May 15. (Portaltic/EP) –

Some users of Smartphones Pixel have reported recent problems related to the device overheatingjust like him excessive battery drain hardly making use of the terminal, pointing to the Google application as the culprit.

This has been stated by different users through shared publications in recent days in Reddit and in the Google Support Forumin which they indicate that the battery is download very fast and that the device overheats “excessively” without heavy use of the smartphone.

Likewise, these users have indicated that, by reviewing the information on the use of the Pixel’s battery, they points to the Google app as the culprit of accelerated battery drain on phones.

“Same thing is happening to my Pixel 6a. The phone is hot when not in use and the battery drains much faster. I noticed that the Google app and Android system intelligence were using a lot of battery“, posted a user in the Google Support Forum.

As shown by some screenshots shared by those affected, in the list of applications that have made the most use of the battery since the last charge, leads the Google application as the one that consumes the most. In this framework, users have pointed out that failures have begun to occur after a recent update of the ‘app’.

These battery and overheating issues have been identified in different models of both the Pixel 6 and the 7 series. Also, as corroborated by one of those affected on Reddit, at the moment, there is no apparent solution. “I did a factory reset, reinstalled most things and it’s still happening. Other than the battery not lasting, the phone is getting really hot so I know it’s damaging the battery and potentially the CPU.” the user reported.

Following this line, an attempt has also been made to solve the problem installing a previous version of the Google application, however, has not been effective. As one user has verified, even with an older version of May 10, “it still drains the battery”. For his part, from Google they have not pronounced about the possible causes of these failures and their solution.
