Industrial activity cools and falls for the second time in the year

On the other hand, the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy, water and gas supply through pipelines to the final consumer increased 0.9% and Construction, 1.3%.

At an annual rate, the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity grew 1.5%, in real terms and, by sector of economic activity:

Mining grew 2.5%, construction grew 2%, manufacturing industries increased 0.8% and the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power, water and gas supply through pipelines to the final consumer grew 3.7%, in annual terms.

The monthly industrial activity index (IMAI) stood at 102 points during March, a level that is even lower than that of December 2022. In January, the IMAI fell 0.1%, grew 0.5% in February and fell again in March 0.9 %.

With March, the manufacturing industries spin two months with setbacks, since in February they fell 0.7%.
