Google launched the Google Pixel 7a this week at Google I/Oand while some details of the terminal were revealed, we can see in WCCFTech as Google has decided to support the Pixel 7a for only three years, compared to the 5 years of support and updates that other models in the Pixel range receive.
This is something that will not sit well with users of the cheapest version of the Pixel, and that suggests that Google is not very clear about the continuity of the range either, something that had already been alluded to in some rumor that at the time seemed unfounded.
To put us in perspective, the Google Pixel 7a will have 3 years of Android updates, while the Pixel 7 will have 5 yearsand some Samsung terminals have up to 4 years of updates, which means that the Pixel 7a will reach Android 17, while a Galaxy A54 would have Android 18, both starting from the same version of the Google system.
Without a doubt, it is strange that being able to count on the trick of long-term support, Google has not wanted to use it with this specific terminal.
