3 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Palestinian and Israeli authorities have agreed to a ceasefire that came into force at dawn on Wednesday, after a day of tensions and cross attacks following the death in prison of Jader Adnan, a senior Islamic Jihad official who had been serving for more than 85 days on hunger strike.
As reported by the Palestinian outlet Maan, the ceasefire is by mutual agreement and has entered into force at four in the morning (local time).
Hours later, the Israeli Army has activated the air alert in the border region with the Gaza Strip, although shortly after they have confirmed that it was a false alarm and have informed citizens that they can return to normality.
This cessation of hostilities would take place just hours after the Israel Defense Forces have bombed several targets in Gaza, according to their information, strategic points used by the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas.
Hours before, several projectiles would have been launched from Gaza into Israeli territory, as detailed by the IDF on Wednesday and reported by ‘The Jerusalem Post’, specifically 32 projectiles, leaving twelve civilians injured.
