A six-year-old boy has died after being attacked by a lion on Monday at the Asdaa Zoo in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.
The boy, a resident of the Maan region, east of Jan Yunés, was taken to the Nasser Medical Complex in critical condition and shortly after his death was reported, according to the Palestinian newspaper ‘Al Quds’.
Later, the Gaza Police reported that the minor died due to serious injuries inflicted by the animal after the child climbed the fence that protects the lion’s cage and approached its bars, when the lion took advantage of it to bite him. and apprehend him.
The authorities have reported the opening of an investigation into what happened.
