The well-known Der8auer has manufactured a liquid cooling block for AMD Ryzen 7000 processors. What makes it different from most custom blocks or “all in one” systems is that it is created to establish direct contact with the die (the own internal chips) of the AMD Ryzen 7000 by removing its IHS.
This allows you to achieve significantly lower temperatures than conventional heatsinks that are placed on the IHS (the metal plate that covers desktop processors). We are talking about nothing more and nothing less than 25 degrees Celsius less in an overclocked Ryzen 9 7900X, which has gone from 90 degrees to 65 degrees.
However, withdrawing the IHS implies the irremediable loss of the guarantee of any processor.
The overclocker has first created a copper plate that replaces the Die itself (which can be used with any heatsink), and then created a block that makes direct contact with the Die based on the design of the plate.
Der8auer has assured that it will sell these blocks in their final version under the name of AM5 Mycro Direct Die Cooler for a price of 100 euros for the model without RGB and around 135 euros for the model with RGB.
