Uber’s 2023 lost-and-found report includes dentures, marijuana, a lightsaber and a slush machine

() — Uber released its annual list of items left behind by passengers in cars, and it includes some really weird ones, like an ankle monitor, fingernails, and even a slush machine.

The ride-sharing company published its Uber Lost & Found Index 2023 on April 27, when Mercury turns retrograde, a time of year that astrologers say influences oblivion, according to Uber. The index is based on lost property reports submitted by passengers.

The top 10 most forgotten items come as no surprise and include phones, wallets, keys, jewelry, and headphones.

But his list of the 50 Most Rare Lost Objects is where things get weird. Includes a Danny DeVito Christmas ornament, a flaming sword, a remote-controlled vibrator, chicken wings, six cheesecakes, painted rat traps, an all-important pregnancy test, false teeth, a lightsaber, marijuana, and a loafer from Gucci.

Jacksonville, Florida, took the top spot for being the most forgetful city. San Antonio (Texas) and Palm Springs (California) ranked second and third, respectively. According to Uber, the time of day when most lost items are reported is at 11 p.m.

The annual report, now in its seventh edition, is intended to remind passengers how to retrieve lost items through the Uber app.

“When you hit the road this summer, try to remember your belongings when you get out of the backseat. In case you lose a cute Danny Devito Christmas ornament, a beloved Toy Poodle pet or 6 cheesecakes, Uber will be happy to help you find it. return those items,” an Uber spokeswoman said in a news release.

Through a feature in the app, users can report lost items and contact drivers to get them back. The service costs US$15 and covers the time and effort of the driver.
