30 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
An individual has murdered three of his friends with whom he shared an agricultural and pigeon-breeding business in Setúbal, south of Lisbon, with a hunting rifle, and then committed suicide.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning in the Azul neighborhood of the city of Setúbal, when the youngest of the four individuals, almost 40 years old, killed the other three, over 50, and later committed suicide for reasons which are currently unknown.
Sources from the Portuguese Judicial Police quoted by the Lusa news agency point out that there was “a conflict between a group of fanciers” who also had several farms in common.
Sources from the Public Security Police have explained that when the agents arrived at the scene after being alerted around 8:00 am they found “three corpses and one person who committed suicide as soon as they arrived” the police officers.
A Police spokeswoman, Commissioner Andreia Gonçalves, has not been able to confirm these circumstances and has reported “four men with gunshot wounds and ages between 30 and 60 years.” The reason would be “a matter that they had to resolve among themselves and that has nothing to do with the neighborhood.”
