Iraqi president makes his first visit to Tehran

The President of Iraq, Abdulatif Rashid, has arrived in Tehran this Saturday in what is his first visit to the capital of Iran since he took office, in October 2022.

Rashid heads a high-level mission that has traveled to Iran at the invitation of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. They have been received at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport by the Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance, Ehsan Jandozi.

Also present was the Iranian Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, EnsiyƩ Jazali, reports the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa al Sudani already visited Iran at the end of October, just beginning his term.
