The Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry announced this Saturday the arrival at the port of Jeddah of a ship with almost 2,000 evacuees from Sudan at the culmination of the largest extraction operation since the beginning of the conflict in the African country on April 15.

Specifically, there are 20 Saudi citizens and 1,846 people from some 50 countries, according to the note published by the Ministry on its Twitter account.

Namely: Thailand, Australia, Rwanda, Gambia, Eritrea, Malawi, France, India, Norway, Yemen, United States, Syria, Philippines Nigeria, Bangladesh, Sweden, Kenya, Tunisia, Iraq, Libya, Morocco, Jordan, Mauritania, Tanzania , Iran, Pakistan, Canada, Russia, Panama, Ecuador, Ireland, Greece, Vietnam, Nepal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Sudan, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Myanmar, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Turkey, Italy, Ethiopia, Chad, Germany, South Africa, Uganda, Liberia, Namibia, Sierra Leone, the United Kingdom, Benin, the Netherlands, Egypt, Sudan, and Romania.

To these must be added United Nations personnel and citizens of the occupied Palestinian territories, added the Ministry’s statement.

Since the start of hostilities between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Saudi Arabia has established itself as one of the main parties responsible for the evacuation of foreigners from the African country, especially by sea route from Port Sudan to Jeddah. .

Saudi authorities estimate that 4,879 people have left the country using the mechanisms offered by Riyadh, counting 139 Saudi citizens and another 4,738 individuals from 96 different countries.
