Digital co-pilots, new avatars?
In addition to the DAX demo, Microsoft took advantage of the press tour to talk about the future of these virtual assistants, which they even called: the era of co-pilots. According to Dr. Walter Sun, vice president of AI, applications and business platform at Microsoft, these types of apps can already support thousands of people today.
“AI can already collaborate in real time with us, whether it’s doing repetitive tasks, helping to get them done on time for creativity, or increasing time for humans to do what they really like,” he said in a presentation of the new applications. that are currently used.
As an example, he spoke of Viva Sales with GPT Generation, a tool that allows you to summarize conversations, write emails, and even prioritize tasks or risks that some projects in an organization might have.
In addition to this tool, Sun talked about GitHub Copilot, a tool that is capable of generating code, according to certain instructions given by a programmer.
“The results indicate that 46% of the new code that is written is developed by AI, and we have also identified that 75% of developers feel more focused on creativity tasks within their work when using this tool.”
When asked about the future of this type of tools, Sun pointed out that co-pilots will be a new form of collaboration within companies.
Although in 2022 a large part of the industry was focused on the metaverse conversation, where avatars were discussed, these types of co-pilots are beginning to represent a kind of work avatar for various applications, since they are capable of assisting users who use them .
