27 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Kremlin spokesman, Dimitri Peskov, on Thursday dismissed the phone call between the presidents of China, Xi Jinping, and Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, as “a sovereign matter” between those two countries.
“Regarding the call, this is a sovereign matter for each of these countries and the subject of their bilateral dialogues,” the Kremlin spokesman said at a press conference, reports the Interfax agency.
When asked if they expected that this conversation could bring the resolution of the crisis closer, Peskov has limited himself to saying that Russia is prepared to receive not only everything that can put an end to the war, but also what brings them closer to achieving “all the objectives” that have been set in the conflict.
Regarding the common points that the peace plans of Kiev and Beijing share, as announced by the Ukrainian Presidency, Peskov pointed out that it was already an issue that was already known, since “it has been presented repeatedly” by Zelensky and China. All the main parameters of these plans have been publicly announced,” he said.
Lastly, he pointed out that a new meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Xi is not scheduled for any time soon.
