As if that were not enough, it is reported that minutes after downloading, users received messages from the China Anti-Fraud Center warning them that they had downloaded fraudulent software and asking them to uninstall it immediately. Some users report that the alarms were triggered mainly in the Guangdong province.
There was no shortage of users who speculated as to whether it was Tencent who flagged the multiple downloads hinting at the possibility of possible fraud. Let’s remember that Tencent is a company that dominates the video game scene in China and other eastern regions and, therefore, competition from HoYoverse.
However, this is not official and honestly it sounds unlikely. The only thing that is known is that there were users who were notified that Honkai: Star Rail it could be a scam.
