Some AMD Ryzen 7800X3D are taking damage and damaging their motherboards

It seems that there is a general problem that has to do with the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, some chips that have the new vertical cache that we saw for the first time in the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and that left us wanting much more. As we can read in Windows Center, these processors are suffering damage large enough to physically damage the motherboards they are housed on.

For now, it is unknown why this is happening. but the initial theory is that these processors are not capable of working under the EXPO profiles –the AMD equivalent of Intel XMP– that can work on the standard models of the AMD Ryzen 7 7800.

This incident is not isolated. Well, on Reddit you can see multiple instances of this type of damagewhatever it is, ends up burning and swelling the processor at the bottom, catastrophically damaging both the processor and the motherboard socket – remember that AM5 is LGA.

This is surprising, but not so much when we consider that the overclocking potential and the frequencies of the X3D models they are inferior due to the added difficulties that the 3D cache adds to the design of these processors.
