Government met with Andi and the SAC to discuss inflation

He Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Germán Umaña Mendozaannounced that he has met with representatives of the National Association of Businessmen of Colombia (Andi) and the Colombian Farmers Society (SAC)as well as the Minister of Finance, José Antonio Ocampoand Agriculture, Cecilia Lopez.

The objective of this meeting is to consider the proposals of the private sector in the country in order to jointly counteract the effects of inflation through the reduction in food prices, as well as other types of products that are most frequently purchased in Colombian homes.

This meeting, as mentioned by Umaña, is a strategy that the Executive has been working on, that is, designed by the President Gustavo Petrowith the confidence of the Government that inflation was going to reach its maximum limit in order to begin to fall.

“In the government of President Gustavo Petro we have been working on measures to combat inflation hand in hand with the private sector. We started a dialogue between the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Agriculture, Andi and SAC; and we will involve other actors of the productive sector”, Umaña said on his Twitter account.

These meetings will be taking place until the May 5ththe day on which National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane) to meet the new Consumer Price Index report of the month of March, in which the results of the cost of living will also be presented during the first quarter of 2023.
