Still haven’t bought a PlayStation 5? You can congratulate yourself and feel good for being so patient. It turns out that Sony’s next-generation console has officially dropped in price in Mexico, so you can get it cheaper than at its launch, something that had been difficult due to shortages and resellers.
In various stores in Mexico, the PlayStation 5 already has a new official price. For example, the standard version that debuted at a price of $13,999 MXN and that in 2022 increased its price to $14,999 MXN is now offered for $12,999 MXN; that is, it is $2000 MXN cheaper than a few weeks ago.
For its part, the digital version, which had a price of $12,499 MXN after the increase, is now offered in exchange for $10,699 MXN. This means that it is even cheaper than at its launch, when it cost $11,499 MXN.

Until now, Sony has not explained what this price change is due to. Possibly because the console shortage is over and the price of the US dollar has fallen compared to the peso.
The new prices are already reflected in some stores in Mexico and, in fact, some already appear on amazon. So, if you were saving to buy your PlayStation 5, maybe the time has come to make the leap to the new generation.
