A failure during the flight of a Russian fighter has caused a strong explosion on Thursday in the Russian city of Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine, which has resulted in at least two people being injured.
“On April 20, 2023, at around 10:15 p.m. Moscow time, during the flight of the Su-34 aircraft of the Aerospace Forces over the city of Belgorod, an abnormal drop of aviation ammunition occurred,” explained the Russian Defense Ministry.
The ministerial portfolio, which has indicated that there is damage to residential buildings but without notifying victims, has indicated that an investigation is already underway.
For his part, the governor of Belgorod, Vyacheslav Gladkov, explained that the explosion has left a hole with a radius of 20 meters on a main street in the city and has damaged four apartments in a building and four vehicles.
Gladkov, in turn, has indicated that according to preliminary data there are two injured, one of them has been taken to the hospital in serious condition, while the second person has received medical attention at the scene of the incident.
