The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, meets this Tuesday with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, with whom he has assured that he has “a good, beautiful and deep friendship.”
“I am convinced that it is going to be an interesting conversation. He is a seasoned man, more than a decade as Foreign Minister of Russia,” he added. “He is one of the most influential men in international politics.”
During an intervention on his program ‘Con Maduro +’ on Venezuelan state television, Maduro confirmed that the Russian minister will meet with his Venezuelan counterpart, Yván Gil, and with the vice president, Delcy Rodríguez.
Lavrov will visit the Miraflores Palace this Tuesday as part of a visit that began this Monday in Brazil and will last until Friday, with stops in Nicaragua and Cuba, as well as Brasilia and Caracas.
According to a statement from the Russian minister, Lavrov “flies to the region with a concrete agenda that seeks to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries at the political, commercial, economic, educational, humanitarian, cultural and other levels.”
