Four people were killed and several injured in a shooting Saturday night in Alabama, authorities said.
The event occurred in the Dadeville area, the WRBL-TV station reported. The shots apparently erupted during a teenager’s birthday party at a dance studio, the station said, showing police tape and a large number of officers around the Mahogany Masterpiece Dance Studio.
The local police agency released very little information about the event. He said that the incident occurred at around 10:30 pm There were no reports on the cause of the shooting and it was not reported if anyone had been arrested.
“This morning, I join the people of Dadeville and all of Alabama in their grief. Gun crime HAS NO place in our state, and we are being updated on developments by law enforcement agencies,” Alabama Governor Kay Ivey said on social media.
Dadeville, population about 3,200, is in eastern Alabama, about 57 miles (92 kilometers) northeast of Montgomery, Alabama.
