The North Korean ship would have ended up in South waters during the pursuit of a Chinese fishing boat

The South Korean Army has announced this Sunday that one of its ships carried out warning shots this past Saturday morning against a North Korean patrol boat for crossing the so-called Northern Limit Line, the maritime border between the two countries.
The North Korean patrol boat crossed the border at around 11 a.m. in the waters off the South Korean island of Baengnyeong in the Yellow Sea, prompting the immediate deployment of a Chamsuri-class patrol vessel, according to a statement from the Board of the General Staff of the South Korean Army, collected by the country’s official news agency, Yonhap.
The South Korean Army indicates that the raiding ship “did not respond to the warnings or communication attempts”, so the South Korean ship fired ten warning shots with its automatic cannon, which led the North Korean patrol boat to return to its waters. .
Agency sources point out that the North Korean ship was chasing a Chinese fishing boat before the incursion. This fishing boat, in fact, ended up colliding with the South Korean patrol boat, injuring three sailors, one of whom had to undergo surgery for a fracture.
