Forty-one students from 13 countries around the world will participate in the twenty-fourth version of the Development Policy Studies Program of the Latin American School of Development Studies (ELADES) of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), which will take place between July 13 and September 1, 2023 in person.
210 people from 27 countries around the world applied for this edition of the Program -which will take place at the Commission’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile. The 41 selected students come from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, India, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
The Program of Studies on Development Policies for Latin America and the Caribbean was created in the year 2000 under the label of Summer School, and since then more than 600 students from different countries and universities around the world have participated. Classes are taught by experts who are part of ECLAC staff.
It is a plural space for thought that promotes discussion, reflection, generation and exchange of ideas on Latin American problems, based on the specialized contributions of the different ECLAC divisions and advances in development issues.
In this way, ECLAC seeks to maintain its link with the university world, with students from within and outside the region, contributing to their training in development issues.
