Spotify closes Heardle one year after its acquisition

Spotify is ditching Heardle, a namesake of Wordle that, Instead of making us guess words from a handful of letters, it made us guess artists and songs from just a few seconds of them.thus serving as a hearing challenge for all those who listen to a lot of music and know an infinite number of titles and artists.

However, it seems that it has not been very successful, and it is that although Spotify acquired Heardle in 2022 for an undeclared amount, it is now at the beginning of 2023 when the company decides to put Heardle aside to focus on music discovery services to provide within Spotify.

The announcement also includes a death date, and it is that May 4th will be the last day that the platform can be accessed, being closed definitively on May 5. That is why the company recommends, if we want to save some of the results that we have in it, that we start to take screenshots.

It’s certainly a sad ending for Heardle, but as is the case with all fashions, they all have an expiration date, and this was not going to be less for any reason.
