Samsung has announced today new memory cards under the Pro Plus rangesome cards designed for professional use in devices such as photo and video cameras that will allow us to have extremely reliable cards as well as fast. In general, these cards arrive designed for content creators.
Among its specifications, we find speeds of 180MB/s for sequential read and 130MB/s for sequential write, an improvement of 12 and 8 percent respectively over the previous generation of these cards, so while it’s a modest improvement, we’re getting close to the limits of an SD or microSD card.
These cards will be available in capacities up to 512GB, and are compliant with V30 certification for video, which allows them to work perfectly with video in 4K resolution and storing up to 30 hours of it, depending on the bitrate at which our camera records.
Samsung will sell these cards in both SD and microSD formats, In addition to separately providing a USB 3.0 card reader that will allow us to take full advantage of the speeds of these cards both within our recording devices and outside of them, either when copying it or working directly from them.
