A social media leak of classified documents has the US concerned about the repercussions this could have on a global scale. These are Pentagon documents that allegedly reveal that the Joe Biden Administration would have spied on partners such as Ukraine, Israel and Egypt. The media have not been able to confirm if the leaked data was manipulated or altered, nor is it known who caused the leak of said documents. We discuss it in this discussion.
The documents give details of secret US and NATO military plans in Ukraine. It is difficult to measure or estimate the damage that this information leak could have on the Ukrainian offensive.
They also show the alleged pressure that Washington put on Seoul to give Ukraine weapons and mention possible spying by the North American country on leaders and high officials in the governments of the Republic of Korea, Ukraine and Israel.
Israel is one of the protagonists of the leaks. The documents reveal that the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, would have promoted the mass protests against the judicial reform proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The United States has not clarified the veracity of the information and tries to make the documents disappear from social networks and information portals. Meanwhile, from kyiv they blame Russia, stating that it is fictitious information that is part of a disinformation campaign to generate discord between Ukraine and its allies. The Kremlin has said the documents are “interesting” and their content cannot be “discarded.”
Who could leak this information? What impact will it have on the scenario of the war in Ukraine? Where does the United States stand with its allies? Who have you exposed? We analyze it in this edition of El Debate with our guests:
