The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced this Friday the arrest in the Zaporizhia region of a Russian agent of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) for allegedly collecting information about the Russian Army.

The detainee, as reported by the authorities to the Interfax agency, is a Russian national and has transmitted information about the operations in Zaporizhia and Kherson.

“He reported on the location of institutions that included banks, communication services, social institutions or other places where a large number of civilians congregate,” a spokesman for the institution detailed, according to the aforementioned agency.

The detainee would face a sentence of 20 years in prison, although if the modifications to the law that establishes the penalties for crimes of this nature come into force, he could receive a life sentence.
