Some time ago we talked about the possibility of it being launched a Premium version of the videos at 1080p YouTube, something that came some time after the gazapo in which the company was considering restricting the highest resolutions behind a subscription, after which the price of it was increased.
Now, as we read in Tech Crunch, It seems that YouTube’s decision has already been madeand it is neither more nor less than charging for providing a more satisfactory experience in 1080p videos, so that the Premium subscription is finally a little more true to its name and provides its customers with a better experience.
While this will initially be available in the YouTube app, users of the Web version will have to access this improved quality through an “experiment”a function that YouTube already ran to restrict paid users a while ago, when it was generally available to all users of the platform.
We will have to see comparisons in the future to see if the bitrate improvement will be enough to provide a better experience.
