10 Apr. (Portaltic/EP) –
Video game developer Capcom has removed Denuvo anti-piracy software from the game Resident Evil Village due to alleged problems derived from its use that affected the performance of the video game.
Denuvo is an anti-piracy system belonging to the Austrian company Denuvo Software Solutions launched a few years ago to stop the distribution of illegal copies of video games.
While this tool has legitimate assets and has proven to be useful, it also has its corresponding negative effects on games as it comes at a cost. for developers and their activity affects the performance of the title.
Hence, this tool is not particularly popular among gamers, since they are exposed to higher load times, higher CPU consumption, and high latencies.
The developer of Resident Evil Village has decided to end this solution and has withdrawn it both from the video game itself and from the official page of the product in the Steam store, a version in which users will now notice a different performance, according to what has been said DSOG.
