At least two men have died this weekend, after several mortar shots were fired in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, against the home of the Oil Minister, Adbirizak Omar Mohamed, whose residence is located near the Presidential Palace. .

According to local media, this attack has claimed the lives of two of the minister’s bodyguards and has injured two more people, without an official balance of victims for now.

This incident coincides with the announcement by the Somali president, Hasan Sheikh Mohamud, to prohibit the carrying of weapons by the civilian population in the capital and to ask people to trust the security forces to protect them from any attack that the Somali government tries to commit.
