Relatives and relatives of José Couso have summoned the Government this Saturday to recover universal justice to investigate the murder of the Ferrol reporter, whose 20th anniversary is being held on this same day, in an act in memory of the Telecinco cameraman held in Ferrol, his city of birth.
“José Couso is an uncomfortable victim caused by a war that Aznar put us in and based on false data”

The meeting, promoted by the Esquerda Unida group from Ferrol, began with the reading of a manifesto by the local head of training, Paula Faraldo, after which the informant’s uncle, Quico Permuy, intervened.
Before representatives of the political group and city entities in the Plaza de la Paz, in the Esteiro neighborhood, he announced that a similar event will take place on April 22 in Madrid.
Permuy has urged the Executive to “comply with what is established” in the agreement for the formation of the “progressive coalition” of PSOE and Unidas Podemos, which stipulated the precise legislative modification to recover universal justice, suppressed by the previous Government, of the PP.
Thus, he has estimated that after “twenty years we do not tire of asking for justice”, and has lamented the number of deaths in the group of journalists throughout the world in recent years, with reference to countries such as Mexico.
In addition, he has alluded to the case of the journalist Pablo González, “imprisoned and incommunicado in Poland since 2022”, after the start of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and has made it ugly that he remains “detained in isolation” and that he did not count with “ex officio legal advice up to 16 days” after his arrest.
Quico Permuy has called for full “press freedom” and has insisted on “demanding justice and truthful information”, with the support of the Government for the sake of “the safety of journalists” so that there is “free information”, as he has also requested “investigation and justice” for Couso.
