It seems that Samsung was right to ban the use of ChatGPT on premisesbecause after the ban was lifted, it has been possible to know through gizmodo that Several employees have leaked sensitive company data to OpenAI via the AI chat tool.
This is serious, because it must be taken into account that OpenAI makes use of all the information that users enter into the tool to continue training it, something that on the other hand has made Italy prohibit the use of the tool within the country while an investigation is launched into the use that the company makes of the personal data that it stores in bulk.
Total, there are at least three known instances in which Samsung workers have entered confidential informationas it would be the source code of the programs of the semiconductor factories, important meetings, and even information of the machines that are used within the factory.
The worst thing about this is that Samsung is not the only company to suffer from this problem, as it is estimated that 3.1% of Cyberhaven customers have sent sensitive data to OpenAI via ChatGPT.
