6 Apr. (Portaltic/EP) –

WhatsApp continue to work on your new newsletter tool or ‘newsletter’which will be presented under the name ‘Channels’ and will remain in the section dedicated to status updates.

The company began developing this feature a few months ago with the aim of improving the communication of information directly, as it already does with the Communities functionality.

In this case, it was WABetaInfo that noticed the ‘Newsletter’ option in the update to the Beta version of Android 2.23.5.3 and indicated that with it users could receive Helpful updates from people and groups of interest to you.

A novelty of this tool is that it will allow an indefinite number of people to be reached, which means that the information transmitted through it will not be protected by end-to-end encryption, since it is a one-way transmission.

This same portal has now confirmed that the messaging platform continues to work on this feature, although it has renamed it ‘Channels’, as verified in the new WhatsApp 2.23.8.6 update released through the Google Play Beta Program.

As you have verified WABetaInfothis option remains in the tab dedicated to status updates and will support names or identifiers so that users can search for specific channels within the platform.
