The Thai Tourism Authority (TAT) has announced a plan to organize Songkran celebrations throughout the country. The agency forecasts revenue of 18 billion baht from Thai and foreign tourists traveling during the festival.
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said a total of 3.8 million trips are expected by Thais during the Thai New Year, in addition to 300,000 trips by foreign tourists.
Highlights of this year’s festival include the Yen Tua La Maha Songkran event and the Amazing Splash 2023 Bangkok International event, taking place at Soi Chulalongkorn 5 from April 13-15. The TAT will also hold events of the 2023 Water Festival in various places in the country from April 13 to 16.

Several Bangkok temples including Wat Pho, Wat Arun and Wat Rakhang will hold traditional activities for the Thai New Year, along with big events at Tha Maharaj, Iconsiam Mall and Asiatique.

Many provinces will host their main events, such as the Chiang Mai Old House, World Heritage Ban Chiang Cultural Square in Udon Thani, Andamanda Water Park in Phuket, and a traditional Songkran event in the district of Phra Pradaeng, in Samut Prakan, which will take place from April 21 to 23.
Throughout the festival, the TAT will work closely with the Tourist Police Office to apply security measures that increase the confidence of national and international visitors.
