Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch on April 19

The console versions of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series already have a release date and will be available digitally on April 19 on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, Square Enix has announced. Until now this collection of six titles was only for sale on PC through Steam and mobile devices.

The Pixel Remaster series, spanning from Final Fantasy I to Final Fantasy VI, features updated 2D pixelated graphics, a revamped soundtrack under the supervision of original composer Nobuo Uematsu, gameplay enhancements, auto combat options, and a modernized interface. . In addition, there are extra contents for the Bestiary, the Gallery and the Music Player. The console version adds its own new features, including the option to toggle between the original and remake soundtracks or the ability to choose the game’s font (default font or pixel style).

There are also features on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch that expand the gameplay possibilities, such as the option to disable random encounters and the option to adjust experience gained with multipliers from 0 to 4.

The six games that make up the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series can be purchased separately or within the Final Fantasy I-VI Bundle for 74.99 euros. In case of purchasing the games separately, the first two installments are priced at 11.99 euros, while the remaining four cost 17.99 euros. On Nintendo Switch, players who purchase the entire collection or one of the games between April 19 and May 25 will receive wallpapers, while on PlayStation 4 themes and avatars are delivered.

The official Square Enix store has an edition in physical format with all the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters for 74.99 euros, while the most enthusiastic will find a collector’s edition that for 274.99 euros includes the following content:

  • Final Fantasy I-VI Collection for PS4 or Nintendo Switch
  • Vinyl Records Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster
  • A 128 page art book with pixel art designs
  • Eight figures of the characters from Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster
  • Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Lenticular Case

The physical format editions of Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster do not have a definitive release date. In the store only May 31 appears as a provisional date.
