Topmore Sagittarius SSD reaches 10 GB/s thanks to PCI Express 5.0



Taiwanese manufacturer Topmore has announced its new SSD Topmore Sagittarius, a model in M.2 format that includes the latest Phison E26 controller with interface PCI Express 5.0 (NVMe 2.0) with which it manages to achieve sequential read and write speeds of the 10,000 MB/s or 10 GB/s.

The Phison E26 is equipped with 232-layer TLC memory chips in a 3D vertical configuration along with an independent 4 GB DRAM cache to speed up performance for accessing the most common data.

At the moment, only the 1TB and 2TB capacity models have appeared.

It is currently available for reservation. Your cost of 1,899 yuan It is equivalent to about 250 euros in its 2 TB variant, while the 1 TB model is around 160 euros to change, a quite affordable amount considering its speed, but it seems that for the moment we will only see it in Asian lands.

Little by little, we will see new SSDs with the NVMe 2.0 standard with PCI Express 5.0 coming to the market and the prices will start to drop. At the moment, only a few models are available, but as PCIe 5.0 spreads, they will eventually replace today’s fastest SSDs.
