The pinnacle of new Russia pseudoscience is the director of cosmic systems at the Khruničev Institute, Aleksej Varočko, who claims that the Russian Sputnik “Jubileinyj” is capable of deviating from Earth’s orbit without being pulled by gravity. The ship could be transformed into a “Gravitsappa”, a mythological artifact from Russian science fiction movies, a reactor that allows cosmic stations to make intergalactic trips.
