1 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Government of Brazil has confirmed that the trip of its president, Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva, to China will begin on April 11, after being postponed a few weeks ago, as reported by ‘Agencia Brasil’.
In principle, Lula was going to travel to the Asian country from March 26 to 31, but had to cancel it after suffering mild pneumonia and the flu.
On his Twitter account, the president has written that starting next week he will return to work and resume his schedule.
It will be Lula’s third state visit to China — he already made two in his previous term as president, in 2004 and 2009 — and the details of his visit have yet to be determined.
The trip will serve to carry out at least twenty agreements on the environment, trade, tourism promotion, science and technology. Brazil trusts that China will help them to reindustrialize some strategic sectors, as promised by Lula in the electoral campaign.
In turn, Lula and Xi are scheduled to address the situation in Ukraine. The Brazilian president has been one of the political leaders who has advocated a third way to solve the conflict.
