Australia sanctions seven senior Crimean officials and restricts their entry into the country

March 31 () –

The Australian authorities have reported this Friday that they have imposed another package of sanctions against seven senior Russian officials in the Crimean peninsula and have restricted their entry into the country.

The new sanctions are aimed at the authorities of the Crimean peninsula, which was annexed by Russia in 2014 and, according to Canberra, these are citizens who have a great weight in the city of Sevastopol, the most important in the area.

Among them is the governor and the secretary of the Electoral Commission of the region, among others, who have become part of the ‘black list’ of those sanctioned by the Government of Australia in the framework of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as as collected in a list of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For now, the Government has imposed these types of restrictions against more than a thousand people after the start of the invasion in February 2022.
