Hunger and precariousness push families in Madagascar to sell their children

In Madagascar, the recent passage of Cyclone Freddy, added to the devastation left by Cyclones Batsirai and Emnati a year ago, plunged hundreds of thousands of people into famine. Last January, the Malagasy media revealed that families are forced to sell their children to survive, information that was quickly denied by the government. However, France 24 visited some isolated villages and obtained exclusive testimonies that contradict the official version.
