Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen will travel to the United States, Guatemala and Belize

() — Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen will travel to the United States, Guatemala and Belize later this month, presidential spokeswoman Lin Yu-chan said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Tsai will leave Taiwan for New York on March 29 before heading to Guatemala and Belize, Lin said. Tsai will head to California before he returns to Taiwan, Lin added.

US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told reporters earlier this month that he will meet with Tsai when he is in the US, but did not specify a date.

At Tuesday’s press conference, Lin did not mention any meeting between Tsai and McCarthy.
