New Zealand is the latest country to ban TikTok on Parliament terminals

TikTok does not stop receiving sanctions of all kindsespecially in the form of bans on use on the grounds of national security, reason why New Zealand is the last country to ban this social network on the terminals of parliamentarianssimply referring to “cybersecurity reasons”.

Unlike the rest of the countries that have taken a similar action, we read in TechCrunch that the New Zealand government will make exceptions for those who need TikTok to carry out their parliamentary dutieswhich are mostly summarized in informing or announcing news to the public through this network.

However, the latter is little more than speculation, since it has not been specified which are the tasks that can actually fall into this exception and which are not, possibly leaning towards denying the use of TikTok whenever and wherever possible.

TikTok, for its part, complains that this decision has been made without first consulting or notifying the social network, something that although it is not really necessary at all, serves the company to express that the security of user data is a top priority for TikTok, in addition to indicating that this decision may have been made based on misinformation.
