Black Friday for the Amazon company with strikes around the world

Really black Friday for the Amazon company with a strike of workers in several countries.

Employees in the US, UK, India, Japan, Australia, South Africa and across Europe are demanding better wages and working conditions as the cost of living rises. Added to this is the planned layoff of 10,000 employees.

So says Ronny Streich, spokesman for the German trade union ver.di.

“More and more people are joining the labor protest throughout Germany and internationally. As a union, we are using Black Friday to show through protests and other actions that employees are unhappy and that there really is a lot to change in terms of working conditions, salary and valuation.”

Meanwhile, in Spain, several Greenpeace activists demonstrated in the commercial heart of Madrid against the “waste” of Black Friday.

Protesters climbed on piles of plastic and cardboard waste to denounce packaging, textiles and electronic waste.
