March 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The President of Algeria, Abdelmayid Tebune, has ordered a reshuffle of the ministerial cabinet, in which the appointment of Ahmed Attaf as the new Foreign Minister to replace Ramtane Lamamra stands out.
Thus, Attaf resumes the reins of the Algerian diplomatic portfolio, functions that he already carried out in the 1990s, between 1996 and 1999, under the presidency of Liamine Zéroual, according to the newspaper ‘Tout sur l’Algérie’.
President Tebune has also removed Kamel Rezig from his duties at the head of the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion, naming Tayeb Zitouni as his replacement. Both ministers had fallen out of favor in recent weeks and had even received public criticism from the president.
Likewise, Yamal Kesali gives way to Laziz Fayed at the head of the Ministry of Finance; Ahmed Zeghdar does the same with Ali Aoun, who will serve as Minister of Industry, while Tahar Derbah will occupy the Hydraulics portfolio from now on.
Kamel Beldjud leaves his position in charge of the Transport area in favor of Yusef Chorfa, who frees the Ministry of Labour, from now on led by Faisal Bentaleb. Abderrazak Sebgag gives way to Abderramán Hemad as Minister of Youth and Sports.
Despite the extensive reorganization decreed by President Tebune, Ibrahim Merud and Abderrachid Tebbi will continue to carry out their duties at the head of the Ministries of the Interior and Justice, respectively.
