We have been seeing for some time how TikTok is receiving sanctions from several countries given the insecurity caused by the fact that its parent company, ByteDance, is directly related to the Chinese government. This has led TikTok to even launch the “Project Texas” in order to assure North American users that their data will be safe..
However, none of this has calmed the waters regarding TikTok, quite the contrary, so that as we can read in gizmodo, It seems that the social network is even thinking of separating from ByteDancesince the connections with the Chinese government come from this company and not directly from TikTok.
This would be achieved by either getting someone to buy the company – in the same way that Elon Musk bought Twitter –or just going publicso that they can get the 50,000 million dollars in which it is estimated that TikTok is valued.
Obviously, all this would be a hopeless option, something to be tried when all else had failed, so we don’t think we’re going to see TikTok go on sale, much less in the short term, despite being a real possibility.
