At least seven people have died in an attack carried out this Monday by alleged members of the Cooperative for the Development of Congo (CODECO) militia in the camp for displaced persons in the city of Djucu, located in the Ituri region, in the northeast of the Republic. Democratic of the Congo.
According to sources consulted by the Radio Okapi station, several armed men shot at seven civilians, including four women, who died on the spot.
After that, the Congolese Army intervened and neutralized six of the alleged attackers. Several of the CODECO members who were injured were taken to health centers for treatment.

CODECO is predominantly made up of members of the Lendu community.
