NordVPN extends free use of the Mesh Network on all platforms

NordVPN has announced an update to its products and has introduced a free version of the Mesh or Meshnet networkwhich allows anyone to create a ‘peer-to-peer’ VPN tunnel between the devices that have it installed, whether they are Windows, Mac or Linux.

The net mesh, Introduced in June of last year, it allows users to connect directly to other devices instead of routing their traffic through a VPN server.

By creating this tunnel between desktop or mobile computers, you can evade the limitations of the Internet, redirecting traffic through any remote device in the world that has NordVPN installed.

This network also allows file sharing without the need to host them on a server and can be used as a virtual local area network (LAN), among other features.

NordVPN has now announced that the Mesh Network will be free for anyone and that is available on all platforms, including Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, and Linux, as well as Android TV. Users can also link up to ten personal and 50 external devices to their own network.

The company has also released three of its products under an open source license: NordVPN for Linux, the network library that uses in all operating systems, Libtelium, and another library used to share files over the Mesh Network, Libdrop.
