The head of the Wagner Group mercenary organization, Yevgeni Prigozhin, explained that his ideal is to create an “army with an ideology” that fights “for justice.”
“The Wagner private military group must become the best private army in the world, a just army capable of defending the State, an army with an ideology and that ideology is the fight for justice,” Prigozhin explained in statements published on a television channel. Prigozhin has also referred to Wagner’s leading role in the Russian offensive on the strategic Ukrainian town of Bakhmut and has advanced some of his plans for the future. “After the capture of Artiomovsk (Bakhmut) we are going to start the restart. On Friday Prigozhin announced that Wagner had already opened recruitment centers in 42 cities to attract new fighters. Among them are ex-convicts.
