DuckDuckGo is a search engine known for promoting the privacy of its users as opposed to the use and traffic of their browsing data with which Google trades.
Following the trend of chatbots and artificial intelligence assistants that have arisen after the arrival of ChatGPT and its integration into Bing Chat, DuckDuckGo has launched DuckAssista new assistant based on Artificial Intelligence that allows users to search and display results based on the information contained in Wikipedia.
Its operation is very simple: the user enters a question in the search box, and the assistant will respond naturally with information that exists on Wikipedia. DuckAssist It does not seek to offer advanced conversations as ChatGPT and Bing Chat do, but rather its purpose is to enhance the more direct search system.
The company will be updating the knowledge base of its Artificial Intelligence on a regular basis, and they plan to put it to more uses than the assistant in the future.
At the moment, DuckAssist is only available in English through the applications for iOS, Android and Mac, and the extensions of the main browsers on the market. It is a beta, so there is still room for improvement until reaching the final version.
