GameStop’s history is full of ups and downs and, without a doubt, one of its most memorable moments occurred in 2021. In case you don’t remember, the reddit community came together to raise the value of the store chain’s shares in a move which surprised everyone.
This event caught the attention of Sony, who decided to adapt the story and make it a movie called Dumb Money. The project was confirmed in October 2022 and finally has a release date to reach theaters.

When will the Sony movie about GameStop debut?
In case you don’t remember, production will be based on The Antisocial Network, Ben Mezrich’s book on the GameStop case. If you are interested Dumb Moneyyou can already mark your calendar, as it will be available from next October 20.
Sony Pictures will be in charge of distributing it worldwide and its premiere in Latin America has already been confirmed. The film features the performance of Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, Sebastian Stan, Pete Davidson, Shailene Woodley and many more.
Mezrich celebrated the news and shared it on his social networks. Players are excited as they believe that the movie has a great cast and that it will surely be a good adaptation of the author’s book.
We know that Rebecca Angelo and Lauren Schuker Blum adapted the story into a drama that will detail what happened in 2021 and its implications for the investment market. As of this writing, a trailer for the film has yet to be released.
