March 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –

One of the four arrested for the death of the governor of the Philippine province of Negros Oriental, Roel Degamo, has declared that the assassination was ordered by congressman Arnolfo Teves, who is currently in the United States, according to sources quoted by the Philippine press. Teves is the brother of Pryde Henry Teves, who was displaced from the position of governor of Negros Oriental by Degamo.

Two of the detainees even claim to have a video recorded with the conversation in which two people order their murder, according to the newspaper ‘The Manila Times’.

The four suspects are being held at the Manila National Bureau of Investigation headquarters. They are Joric Garido Labrador, Joven Calibjo Javier, Benjie Buladola Rodriguez and Osmundo Rojas Rivero.

Meanwhile, the president of the Philippine Parliament, Martin Romualdez, has called on Teves to return to the country since his authorization to travel to the United States was for the period between February 28 and March 9. For this reason, he asks her to “return to the country as soon as possible.”

“It is best that Congressman ‘Arnie’ returns home to face the charges brought against his family in the death of Governor Roel Degamo,” Romualdez said.

The Police have searched several homes belonging to Teves in search of illegal weapons, as confirmed by the authorities, who for the moment have not linked the deputy to the death of the governor of Negros Oriental.

Degamo was meeting with some of his voters at a private estate in the town of Pamplona on March 4 when a group of armed men arrived at the scene in two trucks and opened fire on him, several bodyguards and the rest of the gathering.
