We are less than a month away from Super Mario Bros. The Movie is released and the community already wants to meet all the characters of the Mushroom Kingdom, who have conquered for their adorable appearances. However, and to contrast, a sketch of the plumber’s first film from almost 30 years ago has come to light, where it is shown how Toad was going to be.
As you surely know, one of the cutest inhabitants in the next Nintendo movie is undoubtedly Toad, who will help Mario on his visit to the kingdom and will play a fundamental role in the plot.
However, in the first live-action of the plumber, those responsible for the production were looking for a look quite different from what we will see now, removing that friendly look of Toad and turning it into something you do not want to find overnight.

As you could see, those in charge of the feature film in 1993 had several ideas of how to represent Toad in the story, so they created some designs that show a humanoid mushroom that reminds us a lot of Cordyceps from The Last of Us.
It is worth mentioning that all these designs were rejected and in the end the old film of Mario Bros. He presented others that were also disturbing and that surely marked many fans.

The good news is that everything indicates that Nintendo learned its lesson in that production and now the community will be able to enjoy something completely new and much more faithful to video games in Super Mario Bros. The Moviewhich will be released on April 5.
